Information sheet...

Cafodd O Ddrws i Ddrws ei sefydlu yn 2002 yn dilyn ymchwil trylwyr gan Help the Aged i anghenion y boblogaeth yn Llŷn. Amlygwyd Trafnidiaeth fel problem ac ers hynny bu O Ddrws i Ddrws yn gweithio i ddarparu cludiant fforddiadwy gan wella mynediad i wasanaethau. Nod y sefydliad yw cynnal yn saff, a datblygu'r cynllun cludiant cymunedol er mwyn gostwng amddifadedd o fewn ardaloedd difreintiedig Pen Llŷn. Mae O Ddrws i Ddrws yn rhedeg gwasanaeth trafnidiaeth ar gyfer pobl o dan anfantais o'u cartrefi i gyrraedd gwasanaethau hanfodol ac yn ôl adref.

Oherwydd y boblogaeth isel, gwasanaeth cludiant cyhoeddus cyfyngedig sydd yn ardal Llŷn, ac mae fel arfer yn gwasanaethu'r prif bentrefi a threfi. Nid yw'r bobl sy'n byw mewn llefydd mwy gwledig yn gallu manteisio ar gludiant cyhoeddus; mae eraill yn ei chael yn anodd teithio oherwydd anabledd, salwch neu henaint. Mae'r rhan fwyaf o'r teithiau a wneir i apwyntiadau iechyd, ond mae'r gwasanaeth hefyd yn danfon pobl dan anfantais i weithio, i siopa, i'r banc, i siopau trin gwallt, at weithgareddau cymdeithasol ac ymweliadau.  Byddwn yn creosawu ymholiadau gan bobl sydd angen teithio i waith. Yn ogystal â'r gwasanaeth a ddarperir gan gerbydau'r elusen, mae'r gwasanaeth hefyd yn derbyn cefnogaeth fflyd fawr o yrwyr gwirfoddol sy'n defnyddio eu ceir eu hunain i nôl a chario pobl. Mae O Ddrws i Ddrws yn sefydliad a sefydlwyd gan y gymuned er budd y gymuned ac erbyn hyn mae dros 500 o aelodau.
The organisation was set up in 2002 following a thorough research undertaken by Help the Aged to the needs of the Llŷn population. Transport was highlighted as an issue and since then O Ddrws i Ddrws have worked to provide affordable transport and improve access to services. The organisation aims to maintain, secure and develop the community transport scheme which decreases deprivation within disadvantaged areas of Pen Llŷn. O Ddrws i Ddrws run a transport service for disadvantaged people from their homes to reach essential services and back home (hence the name of the scheme 'O Ddrws i Ddrws' which means 'From door to door').

Due to the low population, there is limited public transport available in the Llŷn area, and this serves only the main villages and towns. People living outside these main villages and towns are unable to take advantage of public transport; others find transport difficult due to disability, sickness or old age. Most of the journeys undertaken are to health appointments, but the service also take disadvantaged people to work, to shop, bank, hairdressers, social activities and visits. In addition to the service provided by the charity’s vehicles, the service is also supported by a large fleet of volunteer drivers who use their own cars to fetch and carry people. O Ddrws i Ddrws is an organisation which was set up by the community for the benefit of the community and by now has over 500 members.
